Pairing quantum physics with a mythical woodland creature
The assignment: effectively illustrate a magazine article. Obviously, the illustration should spur interest in the article. But additionally, the artwork should reflect an understanding of the article and help to explain it.

My article was an exploration of theoretical mathematics called “Time May Not Exist” (from Discover magazine). I considered all kinds of different ideas, including surrealist whirlpools of exploding timepieces and Albert Einstein in a boxing match with a grandfather clock. But ultimately, I thought the most interesting aspect of this article was that of something that does not exist.

So my concept: most people consider Sasquatch to be a myth, but the theory that 'time may not exist' is even more of a fringe belief. Bigfoot himself would find that difficult to believe. Intuitively, the existence of Bigfoot (and flying saucers) seems easier to accept than the non-existence of time.

And so was born this illustration: an incredulous/puzzled Sasquatch peering up at us from his designer watch over some reading glasses. We are witnessing what appears to be his skeptical reaction to the words on the opposite page. Hopefully, the image would be interest-arousing enough to make at least some people peruse the article.
Admittedly, I may have pulled inspiration from Harry and the Henderson's...
It's subtle, but the text is meant to mimic the shape of an exclamation point.
